Upgrading from a previous version of Klocwork
Important: Klocwork Server installations have been discontinued as of release 2023.4. Please proceed with Validate installation.
Important: Issue grouping is deprecated as of Klocwork 2023.3. When upgrading from a previous version, we recommend turning off issue grouping before performing your migration.
Klocwork provides a simple way to import your existing Klocwork projects into a new projects_roots directory. You can use the Klocwork portal GUI to connect to your existing Klocwork server then choose which projects you'd like to import. If you're a Klocwork Code Review user, you can also connect to your existing server to import your code reviews to Klocwork. The GUI enables a quick and painless migration to the very latest version of Klocwork.
Klocwork also provides the ability to load builds from the previous major version of Klocwork into the current version of Klocwork. For example, this means you can load Klocwork builds from any version of Klocwork 2022.1 through to 2022.4 into Klocwork 2023.4 without having to import or migrate data. For large organizations, this feature provides flexibility by allowing you to upgrade the Server to take advantage of improvements, while still analyzing some or all of your projects with a previous version of Klocwork. For more information, see Cross-version support for builds.
We realize that no two installations are the same, and depending on your installation, you may choose to migrate your projects root directory in its entirety. Both methods are described in detail in the sections below.
