Enabling secure passwords
Starting release 2024.2, you can choose to enable or disable the secure password policy in Validate.
When enabled, passwords must meet the following criteria:
-
A minimum of 8 characters
-
At least one uppercase letter
-
At least one lowercase letter
-
At least one number
-
At least one special character (such as !, @, # or $)
To enable or disabled secure password policy, navigate to the Users tab in Validate and toggle the Secure password policy enabled/disabled button.
The following limitations apply:
-
Only users with the "Projects root admin" role have the permission to change this property.
-
If you migrate an existing projects_root from release 2024.1 or older, the secure password policy is disabled by default.
-
If you install a new Validate Server or create a new projects_root (2024.2 or newer), the secure password policy is enabled by default.
-
Existing passwords are not affected.
